Creating Handbags for Women That Refuse to Sacrifice Practicality and Quality for Style

Katie Cassidy grew up in the Boston, Massachusetts area dreaming of a life working in fashion. Upon moving to New York in 2003, stints designing for the likes of Victoria’s Secret and Elie Tahari further convinced her that she could do it herself and that she should take a chance on her dream of starting her own line. However, something was missing, that extra little push; Katie needed a little help from a friend.When Katie Cassidy and Nola Randall met in New York City through mutual friends it was instantly clear that, as well as a deep friendship, this pairing would lead to great things. Just a few short years later and Cassidy Randall, the pair's line of New York made handbags, was born.

This is where Nola Randall comes in. Born on the West Coast of Canada in Vancouver, Nola grew up surrounded by natural beauty. Her picturesque surroundings of the ocean, mountains and trees all helped her to develop her unique knack for putting colors and textures together. This knack was further perfected upon moving to New York in 2000 through her experience as an interior designer, having designed apartments and restaurants in the New York area. 

So on one special girls’ night in during the fall of 2008, the two women decided to merge their individual skills and talents to launch their first collection of luxurious yet edgy handbags. In addition to their ambitious, entrepreneurial streak, the two women’s shared love of fashion, design, and attention to detail made the pair the perfect design duo. Taking the hands on approach to the extreme, Katie and Nola tend to literally every little detail on each of their bags. They are integrally involved in every step of the design process from the sourcing and handpicking of the leather, to the zippers, trimmings and straps. To say that each bag is made with love doesn't even cover it!
